In possible war Do and How I must be as brave as those?
Iran nuclear dispute sent to Security Council and I am going to south Iran for the second time where Iran -Iraq war occurred there. They speak and show us how young people like us in 20 years ago with courage fight with enemy and we must influenced on their speeches and … on the way to back home maybe many of us are thinking how we must to be as brave as those (about 1,000,000) martyrs in the new possible war.

Salam Yasser,
thanks for the blog. I think it is good that we, the young people of Iran, are reminded of the sacrifices made for our freedom and independence. One does need a good reminder now and then. And we can all be brave as them - when the time is right. They were just like us. And we are reminded more often nowdays because of the possible war or conflict. I dislike wars - they are horrible things and source of corruption and immorality: but when ones dignity, independence and nation is undermined I would choose bloody resistance instead of oppressed and humiliating peace and stability. Let us hope it doesn't go that way.
Iran's war with Iraq is little known in western countries. We are good at forgetting what is inconvenient to us. Knowing each others' history is an important way of learning to appreciate the value of other people.
Keep blogging,
Edward
Bravery and honor are wasted if the cause is dishonorable...and who could claim that Iran's desire for nuclear weapons is not dishonorable? Iran has supported terrorism against Israel for many years, yet Israel - which does have nuclear weapons has never even threatened Iran with them...Iran knows it has nothing to fear from an Israeli attack: Israel has too many other problems to try something so stupid and unprofitable. So who else would attack Iran? The USA? They could have done that years ago if they wanted to - but they didn't. The only reason for Iran to have Nuclear weapons would be to *start * a war - and the world wont allow that to happen. For young Iranians to give up their lives for a bloodthirsty regime makes no sense: bravery and honor comes from staying alive and fighting for a free, open, tolerant society.
Please God, no war; but if war, please God, stay safe, Yasser...
Stupid American
hi again,
I hope you feeling better about it ...
I heard something today about this so I'm gonne share it with you. Someone I know said this: "Iranian state media has tried to represent a very pious and religious picture of our shahids - those of revolution and during the iraq-iran war. This is a mistake" . He was right - not all those boys and men and elderly - and women- that fought were so perfectly religious. They were just normal people. They weren't born heros: they became heros after what they did. And if you are familiar with resistance literature you would know them more: South American literature are also very good - as good as the sacred-defense (Iran-iraq war) literature. I am now reading a book on women struggles for respect and independence ... since I am a girl that is also one of my "jahad"s! It is very helpful - but one should also be very alert and critical.
