Because Oil is in middle east

somewhere I read that U.S try to assassinate Fidel Castro for more than 600 times .but I never see any news or article or even a hearsay about assignation of Kim Jong-il.

it is really strange for me because this mad man and his father ruined fate a nation(tow nation!) for about 50 years more than any dictator in the world .

in other tyrannies Anyhow at least you could see some aspects of democracy and welfare, but in north Korea you could only see starvation .

so with all of this I wondered why united state attacked to Iraq for finding WMD or try to assassinate Fidel Castro or even why west try to put Iran under pressure for give up instead north Korea as first choice.

why America never focus on Pyongyang.we only hear about north Korea in news when new tests on missile or atomic bomb occur Otherwise there is no news , about people who live there in worst condition in a really real dictatorship. (I never were there but I am sure they are poorest people among people of Cuba ,Syria ,Libya, Iraq or ... )

-------------

PS: television of Iran cover news about north Korea especially after recently atomic bomb very interesting ,they reported about a big ceremony by people of north Korea in Pyongyang to appreciated! their Leader .

iran television try to promote him as a big leader for his nation! I really don't know why? maybe they are trying to tell us something! ;)

The more I think the more I become confused about North Korea ,just does not seem real.
Well our T.V has always managed to take the masses to the direction which they desire.

If you believe that a country should intervene to help the N. Korean people, I would recommend trying to sway your government to act. You could set up a vibrant democracy in N. Korea to match the one the US set up in S. Korea.

Here's the deal Yasser. I think we tried to use Iraq as an example for North Korea and Iran to get the picture of what the US government is trying to say. The reason we haven't tried going after North Korea yet is because war on the Korean Peninsula (this is according to my roomate who is Korean) would destroy the entire peninsula. Plus, he said that the South Korea president and North Korean "president" (not Kim Jong-Il) are pretty close. I don't think we tried assassinating Castro 600 times. I remember seeing on the History Channel the CIA's own admitted attempts to assassinate him. My guess is the Khameini and the rest of the Iranian government are trying to get you guys to think that you and North Korea are in the same boat with regards to the nuclear proliferation situation.

Forget about North Korea, look at poverty in the world… with the money US spend on undermining Iran or the war in Iraq etc, they could have solved the issue of global poverty.

America won’t do anything to North Korea because they’ll get their ass kicked and North and South Korea will be destroyed in the process and maybe Japan and bring US and China into a military confrontation. Overall it’s is not a smart thing to go to war with North Korea.

brando, South Korea became a democracy in 1987. It was a military junta, just like North Korea before that. Even under American's watch South Korea was a dictatorship for a long long time.

Matt, US did try to kill Castro over 600 times, here are the sources

South Korea's government was just like N. Korea's from 1945 to 1987?

That's a pretty good one.
